Rocks block Provincial Highway No. 8 near the 178-kilometer mark in Hualien County on Sunday morning. A severe earthquake on April 3 and its aftershocks have caused instability of natural and man-made slopes, resulting in the highway between the 110.1-km and 184.5-km marks only being open during certain hours.
